TUCKER -- Authorities have identified the body found Friday in a burned car at Lucky Shoals Park.
The victim was 18-year-old Andrea Nassos, a former Tucker High School student, said Ted Bailey, the chief forensic investigator for Gwinnett County Medical Examiner's Office.
Investigators worked through the night on the case, but no further details surrounding the incident were released, said Mark Wyman, a Gwinnett County Police Department spokesman.
The charred shell of the car was found smoldering in a back parking lot of the park about 5 a.m. Friday. Police weren't immediately able to determine the gender of the body, which was found in the trunk of the car, but Bailey said Nassos was a woman.
The car was discovered by a Gwinnett patrol officer conducting an area check.
Wyman encouraged anyone with information about the incident to contact the Gwinnett County Police homicide unit at 770-513-5300.
