ATLANTA -- The Thrashers still belong to Atlanta -- for now.
NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly and True North Sports and Entertainment denied a report Thursday that a deal has been reached to sell the team to True North, which would relocate the team to Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The Toronto Globe and Mail reported the Thrashers' agreement with True North was done and will be announced in Winnipeg on Tuesday.
On his weekly radio show Thursday night, Bettman said no deal has been made to move the Thrashers to Winnipeg. He added: ''I can tell you that with certainty.''
True North spokesman Scott Brown also said the Toronto report is ''not true.''
