LAWRENCEVILLE — Gwinnett police want to know who fatally struck a 25-year-old Suwanee man on Sugarloaf Parkway and fled the scene late Tuesday night.
The 11:37 p.m. incident killed pedestrian Thiago Campos, who was attempting to cross the parkway outside a crosswalk between Cruse Road and Ga. Highway 316, police said. Campos died at the scene. The driver never stopped, police said. The Gwinnett County Police Department accident investigation unit is looking for a vehicle they believe to be a late-model Dodge Ram van “based on the debris left at the scene,” said department spokesman Cpl. Edwin Ritter. The westbound vehicle was apparently damaged on the front, passenger side, said Ritter. “At this time, the color of the vehicle has not been determined, nor do they have a description of the driver,” he said. Police urge anyone with information to call the Gwinnett County Police Department at 770-338-7430, ext. 5670.More like this story
