Olson, Beauchamp get top 8-AAAAA awards

Parkview and Brookwood took the top honors in voting for the All-Region 8-AAAAA baseball team.

Parkview's Matt Olson was voted the region's player of the year, while the Panthers' Chan Brown was named coach of the year. Parkview also voted team of the year after winning the region title.

The other top individual award went to Brookwood's Jacob Beauchamp, the region's pitcher of the year.

Brookwood's Brandon Agar, Dacula's Tyler Jarvis, Parkview's Jack Esmonde and South Gwinnett's Thomas Embry were first-team all-region selections at pitcher.

The first-team position players were Brookwood's Nick Moore and Zac Rinehart, Central Gwinnett's Luis Valdes, Dacula's Steven Williams, Grayson's Austin Meadows, Parkview's Edwin Arias and Josh Hart and South Gwinnett's Kent Rollins and Austin Williams.

Earning second-team all-region honors at pitcher were Dacula's Brandyn Bartlett, Grayson's Taylor Allum, Shiloh's Josh Nance and Kevin Farrow and South's Jamie Suggs.

The second-team position players were Archer's Deondre Singleton, Berkmar's Jacob Glass, Brookwood's Lucas Sims, Central's Cody de la Paz, Dacula's Tripp Calhoun, Grayson's Kyle Streicher and Clay Ardeeser, Shiloh's Derrick Butts and South's Ryan McDowell.

The awards were voted on by the region's coaches.
