DULUTH — Gwinnett Medical Center-Duluth’s Center for Surgical Weight Management marked its one-year anniversary over the weekend, and will bring in a special guest to help celebrate the occasion today.
Khaliah Ali, a Lap-Band weight-loss surgery patient and the daughter of boxing legend Muhammad Ali, will be the guest speaker at a health fair held at the Gwinnett Convention Center from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Offering a variety of bariatric surgical options for patients interested in weight loss, CSWM has treated more than 60 patients since opening its doors in March 2010.
“Our goal is not just for people to lose weight,” CSWM director Dr. Robert Richard said. “We want to change people’s lives by helping them lead healthier lifestyles.”
“The success of our patients and the upcoming weight loss surgery health fair underscores our commitment to that mission.”
Today’s health fair is free and open to individuals considering weight loss surgery or interested in learning about CSWM’s comprehensive surgical weight loss program.
The event will also feature a fashion show, informational seminar and raffle prizes.
Registration is required. For more information, call 678-312-5000 or visit www.gwinnettbariatrics.com.
