Ken Burns’ next project is Vietnam War

NEW YORK — Having already done the Civil War and World War II, Ken Burns is working on a documentary about the Vietnam War.

PBS said the 10- to 12-hour film by Burns and longtime partner Lynn Novick will be broadcast in 2016.

Burns said his film will tell the human stories of Americans and Vietnamese affected by the war, along with those of Americans who protested against it. He said that four decades after the war’s end, most people have opinions about it but few truly know its history.

PBS is rebroadcasting Burns’ “The Civil War” next week to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the beginning of that conflict.

McGraw to hold concert for SiriusXM

NEW YORK — SiriusXM is celebrating 10 years of broadcasting country music with a Tim McGraw concert — and it is bringing the singer to New York City for a performance.

The satellite radio network said Monday that McGraw will headline a special concert at the Beacon Theatre on April 27. Luke Bryan and The Band Perry are also slated to perform.

The audience will consist of SiriusXM contest winners, but those who cannot snag an invitation can catch the performance on three SiriusXM channels, including a new one — “Tim McGraw Radio.” It’s scheduled to launch a few days before the concert.
