Mr. Doyle Pruitt, age 84, of Buford, GA passed away on Friday, March 25, 2011. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita Fox Pruitt; second wife, Reba Pruitt; parents, Andrew and Allene Hammond Pruitt; sisters, Claudine Thrasher, Velma Butler, and Lennie Lee; brothers, Winfred Pruitt, Marvin Pruitt and Cecil Pruitt; and nephew, Boyce Pruitt. He is survived by his sister, Geraldine Pruitt Anderson Cheek, Lawrenceville, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Garland and Gerry Pruitt, Royal Oak, MI; nine nieces, Linda Thrasher Burke, Brenda Pruitt Griffin, Joan Butler Hanson, Debbie Pruitt Maniscalco, Kathy Pruitt Cook, Sharon Pruitt Morici, Julie Anderson, Judy Lee Wilson and Teresa Pruitt Sapp; one nephew, Tim Pruitt; and several great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Mr. Pruitt was born June 12, 1926 in Buford, GA. He was a World War II veteran of the U. S. Navy. He was retired from DeKalb County Public Utilities Dept. in Decatur, GA. He was a member of the Lawrenceville Church of God. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Edward Davenport and Rev. Kevin Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Hillandale Memorial Gardens in Lithonia, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity in memory of Doyle Pruitt.
