CHICAGO -- The final original episode of ''The Oprah Winfrey Show'' will air May 25.

Winfrey's Chicago-based Harpo Productions confirmed the date Friday. Winfrey announced live on the show in November 2009 that she would end its run after 25 years. She since has launched cable's Oprah Winfrey Network.

"The Oprah Winfrey Show" has been in reruns for the last few weeks. But Winfrey tweeted Thursday that she was ''hard at work planning the final shows'' and new episodes would begin April 7.

Prince Harry to go on Arctic trek with war vets

LONDON -- Prince Harry is heading to the Arctic, showing his support for Britain's wounded Afghanistan war veterans by joining part of their punishing expedition to the North Pole.

Harry travels to frigid northern Norway on Tuesday for three days of training and five days of trekking on a trip organized by the Walking With the Wounded charity, of which he is a patron.

The group includes four British soldiers who were seriously wounded while on active duty, including two amputees.

Love's band Hole to gather for screening

NEW YORK -- Courtney Love's 1990s rock band Hole will gather publicly for the first time in more than a decade.

The group's original members will attend the screening of David Ebersole's documentary on former Hole drummer Patty Schemel on Monday at the Museum of Modern Art. The film, "Hit So Hard," is screening as part of the Film Society of Lincoln Center's annual New Directors/New Films series.

Band members Love, Schemel, Eric Erlandson and Melissa auf der Maur will sit with Ebersole for a Q&A following the screening.

Hole released three albums in the '90s before splitting up in 2002. Love released a 2010 album, "Nobody's Daughter," under the Hole name.
