Eddie Ray Camp, age 86, of Snellville, Georgia, entered into rest on March 19, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Betty Brooks Camp. He is survived by two sons, Wayne & Lynn Camp of Snellville and Anthony & JoAnn Camp of Loganville; three grandchildren, Tabitha Camp Owens and her husband Chris of Brunswick, Travis Camp of Snellville and Elizabeth Camp of Loganville; two great granddaughters, Katie and Cara Owens both of Brunswick; two sisters, Ethel Hardigree of Social Circle and Evelyn Smith of Covington; sisters-in-law, Carol Jane Camp of Monroe, Patty Camp, Louise Martin both of Snellville, and Vera Brooks of Conyers; brothers-in-law; Harold & Ruby Nell Brooks and Weyman & Opal Brooks all of Snellville; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; James, Robert, Lewis and Claude Camp and a sister, Thelma Dendy. Eddie Ray Camp was born on January 16, 1925 in Monroe, Georgia, to Lucy Smith Camp and Roy Otis Camp. He attended public school in Walton County and served in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired from Frito-Lay with over 40 years of service as a Truck Driver with over one million miles driven with no accidents. He was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church in Loganville and served in the Bus Ministry for over 20 years. Mr. Camp enjoyed farming, camping and traveling. He was a devoted family man and friend to everyone and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. The Service Celebrating the Life of Eddie Ray Camp will be held Monday, March 21, 2011, at 3:30 P.M. at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel with Dr. Don Richards, Rev. Tommy Foskey and Rev. James Dispain officiating. Interment Eternal Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
