MONROE -- After starting the season 0-7, Lanier's baseball team won its first game in school history Wednesday by beating Monroe Area 15-10.
Austin Wood went 2-for-4 with four RBIs to lead the Longhorns (1-7, 1-6). T.J. Richardson was 2-for-4 with three RBIs, while Kameron Doster went 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Bryan Gropp also drove in two runs with a hit.
Walter Gropp went 2-for-5 and was the winning pitcher, striking out four and allowing one run in three innings of relief.
Peachtree Ridge 2, North 0
SUWANEE -- Preston Johnson pitched a four-hit shutout in Peachtree Ridge's 2-0 win over North Gwinnett on Wednesday. Johnson (4-5, 1-1) fanned seven to get the win. Jared Walsh hit a solo home run for the Lions (4-5, 1-1). Steven Bowman drove in another run with a sacrifice fly.
Providence 15, Holy Innocents' 5
ATLANTA -- Providence hit six homers in its 15-5 win over Holy Innocents' on Wednesday. Austin Loyd (3-for-4, six RBIs) and Christin Stewart (3-for-3, two RBIs) each hit two home runs. Austin Smith (2-for-4, three RBIs) and Nick Stidham (2-for-3) went deep once for the Stars (3-5, 1-0 in Region 5-A)
Alan Skinner (1-0) gave up two runs and three hits in 41/3 innings to get the win.
Parkview 9, Lassiter 6
MARIETTA -- Matt Olson and Zack Reinstein each hit a homer in Parkview's 9-6 win over Lassiter on Wednesday.
Josh Hart went 3-for-5 with two RBIs, while Ryan Blanton was 3-for-4 for the Panthers (4-5). Edwin Arias, Jarrett Freeland, and A.J. Davis each had two hits and an RBI.
Jesse Foster (2-1) allowed three runs, none earned, in six innings to get the win. Brooks Davis got the last out for his first save.
Duluth 12, Mountain View 1
LAWRENCEVILLE -- David Matton and John Clark each hit home runs in Duluth's 12-1 win over Mountain View in six innings Wednesday.
Noah Hoback had two hits and two RBIs, while Alex Raffensperger also had two hits. Zack Erwin (3-1) pitched a complete game, allowing just one earned run and striking out five.
Alex Brock, Beau Blair, and Peyton Fore each had two hits for the Bears. Blair was the losing pitcher.
Buford 18, Cross Keys 0
BUFORD -- Buford hammered Cross Keys 18-0 in the Region 6-AA opener Wednesday.
Brian Malone went 3-for-3 with a homer and six RBIs to lead the Wolves (6-1, 1-0). Nic Blugasch (two RBIs) and Troy Heterick (three RBIs) also went 3-for-3. Tyler White also drove in three runs and went 2-for-2. White (1-0) also got the win, allowing two hits in three innings. He struck out six.
Meadowcreek 11, Archer 8
LAWRENCEVILLE -- Shea Wilkey and Austin Bernard each had three hits in Meadowcreek's 11-8 win over Archer on Wednesday.
Wilkey (1-0) was also the winning pitcher. He allowed one run in one inning of relief for the Mustangs (4-6). Juan Rubio got his first save of the season.
Hebron 16, Prince Avenue 6
ATHENS -- Hebron hit four homers, including two from Jordan Hillyer, in a 16-6 rout of Prince Avenue Christian on Wednesday.
Hillyer went 2-for-4 with six RBIs and struck out three batters in three innings to get the win. Christian Davila was 4-for-6 with a homer and three RBIs. Danny Lockhart also went deep. He went 3-for-6 with three RBIs.
Grayson 10, Milton 9
ALPHARETTA -- Kyle Streicher had three hits, a homer, and four RBIs to help Grayson to a 10-9 win over Milton on Wednesday. Austin Miller and Taylor Allum each added two hits for the Rams (6-3). Blake Tignor (1-0) pitched four scoreless innings of relief to get the win.

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Megan Wilson scored twice in Archer's 3-1 win over Berkmar on Wednesday. Andrea Guevara scored the other goal for the Tigers (5-1-2, 2-1).

ALPHARETTA -- Wesleyan beat up on St. Francis 10-0 Wednesday. Meagan Hall and Maddie Hall each scored twice for the Wolves (6-2-1, 6-0). Hannah Duane and Beth Horner made three saves in the shutout.

CONYERS -- Nine different players scored goals in North Gwinnett's 10-0 win over Rockdale County on Wednesday.
Caroline Gualdoni scored twice to lead the Bulldogs (7-2). Ashlyn Hogg, Michelle DeMaris, Kristin Tamburo, Abigail Groth, Ashley Grandchamp, Brooke Bortles, Taylor Burns and Maggie Grayson scored once. DeMaris and Fernanda Ruiz combined on the shutout.
Peachtree Ridge 3, Norcross 1
SUWANEE -- Peachtree Ridge moved to 9-0 after beating Norcross 3-1 in the Region 7-AAAAA opener.
Jeremy Rector scored twice for the Lions (9-0, 1-0). Josh Mahram added the other goal. Andrew Rodriguez and Justin Sedam each had an assist. Mitch Kupstas made nine saves, allowing the one goal to Joel Calvillo of the Blue Devils.

SUWANEE -- North Gwinnett swept Meadowcreek 5-0 Wednesday.
Shannon Bettiol, Taylor Clark and Isabel Balsavage won the singles matches for the Bulldogs (10-2). Morgan Willoughby and Madison Bolden, along with Tyler Carroll and Avery Nevels won the doubles matches.

SNELLVILLE -- Ted Moon shot a 35 to lead Parkview to a 150-159 win over Grayson on Wednesday at Summit Chase Country Club. Aaron Desilva added a 37 for the Panthers. Tyler Wilson and Connor Brown each fired a 39 for the Rams.
Collins Hill takes down Mountain View
SUWANEE -- Collins Hill nipped Mountain View 180-185 Wednesday at Collins Hill Golf Club. Chris Rajek shot a 42 to lead the Eagles. Jake Myers' 41 was the low round for the Bears (2-4).
Shiloh gets second win
COVINGTON -- Shiloh handled Newton County 190-231 Wednesday at the Oaks Course. Jason Tarpley fired a 41 to lead the Generals (2-5). Tommy Blackwell added a 46, while Rodney Dennis shot a personal-best round of 47.
Buford edges out Jefferson
BRASELTON -- Buford held off Jefferson 173-178 Wednesday at Chateau Elan. Joey Dando shot a 40 to lead the Wolves (3-2).

LOGANVILLE -- Goalie Erin Palanza made 14 saves to lead Peachtree Ridge to a 9-7 win over Grayson on Wednesday.

NORCROSS -- Danielle Vincent scored five goals as Collins Hill beat Norcross 17-5 Wednesday.
