The Walking Dead (Season One Blu-ray) (NR)
TV Show: 3 1/2 stars out of 4 Discs: 3 1/2 stars out of 4 Frequently written and directed by Frank Darabont (“The Shawshank Redemption”), this acclaimed, breakout AMC series is of particular interest in these parts as it is set and filmed entirely in the Atlanta metro area. Based on the graphic novel of the same name, “The Walking Dead” puts a new spin on the often threadworm zombie motif by using their undead as flavoring and not the main course. Imagine “Lost” cross-bred with “Twin Peaks” with lots of blood and guts.
