Mega Mart at Gwinnett Place to host Quiz Contest
DULUTH — Children in the fourth grade (9 to 10 years of age) are invited to compete from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday in the Mega GoldenBell Academic Quiz Contest sponsored by Mega Mart.
Gwinnett Place will host this contest for 40 participants, who will have the opportunity to answer questions and win prizes. With each correct answer, the participant will move on to the next round; an incorrect answer will lead to elimination.
The final child standing will win a Nintendo DSI XL and a donation made to the child’s school in the amount of $500. All participants will receive a goody bag for playing.

Last weekend for ‘Pride and Prejudice’
DULUTH — This is the final weekend for the New Dawn Theater Company’s production of Jane Austin’s “Pride and Prejudice.”
Chase McElroy and Ashley Jones play the lead roles of Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett, respectively. The play is directed by Sherry Ingbritsen.
Performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. today, Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. The production is appropriate for all ages, and tickets cost $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and $10 for students.

CrossFit plans fundraiser to build school
SUWANEE — The Atlanta area CrossFit community is gathering Saturday with Light of the Lord Global Missions to raise money and awareness to build a private school in Uganda.
The event, “WOD for a Cause,” will be hosted by No Excuses CrossFit at 3580 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road in Suwanee. The doors open at 9 a.m. and everyone is welcome.
At 10:30 a.m., motivational speaker Kyle Maynard will speak. The first Workout of the Day heat kicks off at 11 a.m., and there are three divisions: beginner, intermediate and advanced.
A minimum $10 donation is requested to participate in the WOD.
