SNELLVILLE — Fire damaged a two-story Snellville home in the 3000 block of Pate Creek View this afternoon, displacing people renting the home, officials said.
Fire crews responded at 12:03 p.m. and knocked the fire down about 20 minutes later, said Fire Department spokesman Capt. Thomas Rutledge. Occupants were home at the time and escaped unharmed. They’re being assisted by the homeowner, Rutledge said. The blaze appeared to have started on the outside and extended via an exterior wall to the attic, causing extensive damage to the second floor and attic area. Radiant heat slightly melted the siding on a neighboring house, Rutledge said. The exact cause is under investigation.More like this story
