It is sad to read that the Lilburn City Council continues to deny the request of the Dar-E-Abbas congregation for a small expansion of its worship facilities. They have conducted themselves as good, law-abiding citizens in their present Lilburn location for more than 10 years as far as I know. Their need for a larger mosque, a gymnasium and more parking spaces indicates healthy growth that should be encouraged and supported.
As Americans, we pledge our allegiance to the belief that the U.S. is a nation under God with liberty and justice for all. As Christians, we are taught to love one another — our neighbors as ourselves. As a Christian American, I call upon the Lilburn City Council and the residents of the community to be reconciled to the Muslims in their midst and recognize them as neighbors. We have the same Creator, share some beliefs and can all be instruments of peace if we choose to be. — Dolores Bell WinderMore like this story
