DULUTH — The Gwinnett Gladiators lost one of their most potent offensive threats Monday when the Atlanta Thrashers assigned Akim Aliu to AHL Peoria.
The 21-year-old forward has helped the Gladiators fight back into playoff position since being sent down Jan. 26. Aliu has 19 points in 16 games for Gwinnett. Of his 12 goals, nine were on the power play, two were short-handed and five were game-winners. Aliu had nine points 43 games for the Chicago Wolves, Atlanta’s AHL affiliate, before coming to the Gladiators.More like this story
