WINDER -- Barrow County officials have seized 54 marijuana plants growing in a wooded area near Ga. Highway 316.
On Thursday, five helicopters from the Governor's Task Force located the crop off Argonne Road in Winder before swooping in, Barrow County sheriff's spokesman Investigator Matt Guthas said.
When investigators reached the plants, Guthas said, they found 50-year-old Evan Miller "attempting to destroy them." Miller, who was reportedly living on the property, was immediately arrested and charged with one count of manufacturing marijuana.
The operation including members of the Georgia State Patrol, Department of Natural Resources, Georgia National Guard, Barrow County Sheriff's Office and Winder Police Department.
