INVITATION TO BID
BICYCLE LANES ON
CITY OF SUWANEE.
The Public is hereby informed that the City of Suwanee will be receiving competitive sealed bids from qualified contractors for installing pavement marking and associated signage for bicycle lanes in various locations in the City of Suwanee. Work required under the contract includes, but is not limited to layout of markings, traffic control, pavement markings, signage and protection of work.
Award will be made to the vendor submitting the lowest responsive and responsible bid. The City of Suwanee reserves the right to reject any or all bids as deemed in its best interest.
BONDING REQUIREMENTS: An original bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid sum shall be submitted with the bid. Performance Bonds in the amount of 100% of the contract price and Payment, Labor and Materials Bonds in the amount of 100% of the contract price will be required if contract is awarded.
Contractors must meet the requirements of the current edition of the Georgia DOT Standards and Specifications and the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways 2009 Edition.
Bids are due no later than 1:00 PM, Tuesday, June 28, 2011.
Any bid received after 1:00 PM, Tuesday, June 28, 2011, will not be accepted.
1. The projects are identified in the Citys Pedestrian and Bicycle Plan as follows:
• Project #4 Install sharrows (MUTCD Figure 9C-9) and signage along Scales Road every 250 feet (approximately 3200 LF)
• Project #5 Install sharrows (MUTCD Figure 9C-9) and signage between Main Street and Satellite Blvd every 250 feet (approximately 8200 LF)
• Project #6 Install sharrows (MUTCD Figure 9C-9) and signage along Eva Kennedy Road every 250 feet (approximately 5700 feet)
• Project #10 Install sharrows (MUTCD Figure 9C-9)and signage along Scales Road, Lake Point Blvd., Lake Pass Lane and Station Center Blvd every 250 LF (approximately 7990 LF)
