DULUTH -- No injuries were reported in a tractor-trailer fire that closed three lanes of Interstate 85 near Duluth for a short time Wednesday, officials said.
Fire crews responded to the burning vehicle near the northbound Pleasant Hill Road exit a couple minutes before noon.
The fire, which was contained to the trailer portion of the vehicle, closed three northbound lanes of the interstate and one lane of Pleasant Hill Road before firefighters controlled it about a half-hour later, officials said.
The truck was carrying scrap metal and other construction debris, said Fire Department spokesman Capt. Thomas Rutledge.
"Firefighters kept it from spreading to the cab of the truck," Rutledge said.
