GRAYSON -- A man was transported to a hospital Wednesday after he suffered burns in a blaze at a house where he was working, said Lt. Eric Eberly, spokesman for the Gwinnett County Fire Department.
Paramedics treated the burned worker and took him to Eastside Medical Center. A firefighter was also transported to a hospital for evaluation for heat-related symptoms, Eberly said.
Firefighters were told plumbers working on the house at 2061 Hutton Drive in Grayson accidentally caught it on fire, Eberly said.
Crews found heavy smoke at the two-story residential home where the fire was reported about 5:10 p.m., Eberly said. The blaze caused extensive damage to the second floor of the house.
Eberly said an investigator is looking into the incident.
