WINDER -- Police are asking for public tips to catch three men behind a brazen daylight robbery last week on a Winder roadway.
The victims, a man and woman, were driving about 3:30 p.m. on Ga. Highway 11 South when the Toyota Corolla they were in was bumped by an older model Ford Crown Victoria.
When both cars pulled off onto a nearby road, police said three men -- two black and one white -- exited the Crown Victoria, wearing tan stockings to disguise their faces, and attacked the male driver of the Corolla. They stole an undisclosed amount of cash from both occupants and fled, said Winder police spokesman Officer Chris Cooper.
Cooper described the Crown Victoria as light gray or white with "extremely dark tinted windows." The car may have had a Florida license plate, he said.
"Police are looking for any possible motorists or pedestrians that may have been in the area ... to please come forward if they saw anything," Cooper said.
Officials ask anyone with information to contact Winder Police Department Lt. John Blocker at 770-867-2156.
