Gwinnett Daily Post
Mike Minor is the IL pitcher of the week. Here he is pitching in the big leagues. This start had no bearing on the minor league award.
For the second time this season Mike Minor earned International League pitcher of the week honors, just sneaking in his one-outing this week in Sunday’s G-Braves wins.
He made the most of it, pitching eight shutout innings, allowing just one hit. He took a perfect game into the seventh inning before walking the first batter of the inning. He lost his no-hitter one out later on a broken-bat single. But that was it for Buffalo in the inning.
Minor struck out nine in the game. He is now 3-2 with a 2.23 ERA in nine starts with Class AAA Gwinnett. In his three starts with Atlanta he is 0-2 with a 5.06 ERA, but in his last start he threw six, three-run innings to the Padres.
Lehigh Valley’s Jeff Larish earned batter of the week honors hitting .427 with four home runs in 11 games. Three of the four homers came against the G-Braves.
