Brookwood’s Ross Heffley, a junior at Western Carolina, was a first-team selection Thursday to the Louisville Slugger NCAA Division I All-American baseball team.
Heffley, one of only 17 players on the list, becomes Western Carolina’s 11th All-American and first since 2001. He’s just the third player from his school to be a first-teamer. The infielder led the Southern Conference with a .419 batting average and a .483 on-base percentage. He also had team highs of 11 home runs and 65 RBIs. A first-team All-Southern Conference selection, Heffley is playing this summer in the prestigious Cape Cod League.More like this story
