Parkview grad and 2008 Olympic swimmer Eric Shanteau finished just a spot away from medaling in the 200-meter breaststroke Friday in the FINA World Championships in Shanghai, China.
Shanteau made a strong move in the final 50 meters but touched fourth in 2 minutes, 9.28 seconds, just behind third-place finisher Christian vom Lehn of Germany (2:09.06). Hungary's Daniel Gyurta (2:08.41) and Japan's Kosuke Kitajima (2:08.63) finished first and second.
