LAWRENCEVILLE — Sheriff’s deputies apprehended a Suwanee man wanted for armed robbery Wednesday, but not without a foot chase.
Gwinnett County deputies received a tip that Jeremy Oakley Biddle — wanted for a July 16 armed robbery on Sugarloaf Parkway — was staying with a friend at the Preston Hills at Mill Creek Apartments in Buford and began surveillance there, spokeswoman Stacey Bourbonnais said. When Biddle was observed getting out of a vehicle and entering an apartment, deputies reportedly sprung into action. “They demanded that Mr. Biddle come out with his hands in the air,” Bourbonnais said, “but he jumped from a bedroom window and tried to flee.” The suspect was apprehended after a “brief” foot chase, Bourbonnais said. During Biddle’s alleged crimes earlier this month, officials say he robbed a man of more than $500 at gunpoint. In addition to armed robbery, Biddle was charged with gun possession during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Deputies tacked on one count of obstruction of a law enforcement officer Wednesday, Bourbonnais said. Gwinnett County Jail records show Biddle is being held without bond.More like this story
