After Sheriff reportedly consented to a vehicle search, the officer quickly located a piece of sound equipment with the word “Sanctuary” printed on it. Further investigation allegedly revealed multiple audio cables and other pieces of equipment, later valued at about $900.

The items were determined to be stolen from the nearby Lawrenceville Church of God, where crews has been “setting up a sound system for the church band,” police said.

“(Sheriff) stated that he purchased the items from a guy in the parking lot outside the church for $10,” the report said.

One of the men reportedly setting up the sound systems at the church arrived at the scene after Sheriff had been pulled over. He stated that “he had already recovered several other items ... from Sheriff when they had finished their job.”
