PUERTO MONTT, Chile -- Norcross' Diamond DeShields scored 16 points and Breanna Stewart added 14 to help the U.S. under-19 women's basketball team beat Russia 76-53 in the opening round of the World Championship on Friday.

Incoming Duke freshman Elizabeth Williams added 11 points an 10 rebounds for the Americans (2-0).

The three-time defending champions finish off preliminary round play against Argentina (0-2) today.

The second round will be played Monday through Wednesday.
