DULUTH — The ’80s hard rock band Dokken will perform tonight at Wild Bill’s as part of the club’s Summer Rock Series that continues through Sept. 16.
Rock aficionados from the 1980s will remember Dokken as the hard-hitting heavy metal band that burst on the music scene with “Breaking the Chains” in 1983.
A force to be reckoned with in the following years, Dokken came to be known and respected as a formidable creative force in the world of melodic hard rock. Sharing the stage with greats such as Aerosmith, AC/DC, Metallica and Judas Priest, the band earned a reputation for playing some of the genre’s finest tracks.
According to group representative David Steele, fans can expect to hear some of the group’s early hits such as “Breaking the Chains,” “Alone Again” and “In My Dreams,” as well as cuts from the band’s newest album “Lightning Strikes Again.” Today, the band is made up of members Don Dokken (vocals), Mick Brown (drums), Jon Levin (guitar) and Sean McNabb (bass).
Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 9:30 p.m. The dance party goes until 2 a.m. after the concert.
General admission tickets are $15 in advance and $21 at the door. Table seats tickets are $25; tickets for VIP seating cost $50 to $100. Visit www.ticketmaster.com to purchase advance tickets.
