Rotary to host fundraiser for Rainbow Village

The Rotary Club of Gwinnett County is hosting a comedy night at the Gwinnett Civic Center’s grand ballroom Thursday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. to raise funds for Rainbow Village, a local homeless ministry.

The event, which is open to the public and features the “funniest women in Georgia,” according to Southern Living, is the first of an effort by all local clubs to help the charity build a new campus.

“It’ll be a legacy that Rotary can leave, dealing with homelessness in the county,” said Paige Havens, the Gwinnett club’s secretary. She said Rainbow Village’s commitment to help families with vocational training “really spoke to Rotary. It’s an opportunity for all of us to volunteer, not just give money.”
