NORCROSS -- Police arrested a Woodstock man Tuesday at an extended stay hotel in Norcross who's wanted for allegedly setting a teenager on fire last week in Cherokee County, officials said.
Acting on a tip from Woodstock authorities, Norcross police arrested Joseph Raymond Zeock, 61, at the All Around Suites on Medlock Brick Road about 1:30 a.m.
Zeock was transported to the Gwinnett County Jail, where he was being held later Tuesday for Cherokee County authorities.
Woodstock police have charged Zeock with aggravated battery, cruelty to children, false imprisonment and solicitation of sodomy following a bizarre encounter last week with a 17-year-old boy.
The victim told police Zeock promised him money in return for sexual acts at the Suburban Lodge, another extended stay hotel in Woodstock.
During their encounter, the teen told police Zeock bound and gagged him and set him on fire. Investigators first met with the teen July 12 while he was being treated for burns at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.
