SUWANEE — Now’s the chance to choose your favorite.
The city of Suwanee is encouraging residents and visitors to cast a vote for their favorite submission to the city’s “SculpTour,” a selection of 15 outdoor sculptures that have been installed through Town Center. The sculpture with the most votes in March, when the inaugural exhibit comes to a close, will be crowned the “people’s choice” and purchased by the Public Arts Commission to be added to Suwanee’s permanent art collection. “I love that each of the sculptures has such a distinctive personality,” Suwanee Economic and Community Development Director Denise Brinson said. “In the best tradition of public art, some of these pieces are sure to be conversation-starters.” Voting is now available via the city of Suwanee’s website, paper ballots and QR codes (a type of barcode that can be scanned by smartphones) on the individual art pieces. For more information, ballots and a list of sculptures and their locations, visit www.suwanee.com.More like this story
