DULUTH — Gwinnett Chamber officials have given a boost to the man in charge of members.

Vince DeSilva was promoted from vice president of membership services to senior vice president, giving him a seat on the chamber’s executive team.

“It is always humbling to be recognized for doing what you love,” DeSilva said in a press release. “I am honored to be placed in such a strategic role within the Chamber and look forward to assisting the executive team in planning for the future.”

The Suwanee man joined the Chamber in 2007, after working in Home Depot’s human resource division. His job description includes sales, retention, membership campaign and providing value-added services to members. DeSilva’s staff has been recognized by the American Chamber of Commerce Executives and officials lauded his work.

“Vince is a recognized team player, a well-respected individual in the community and among our staff and a highly regarded professional by the Chamber’s Board of Directors,” said Jim Maran, the business organization’s president and CEO. “He has demonstrated leadership throughout all aspects of his working relationships, does what it takes to get the job done and has a talented vision of driving the future in a complex, dynamic, multi-faceted arena.”
