Anita Murphy

Anita Greubel Murphy, age 74 of Stone Mountain, Georgia passed away July 4th at home with her daughter, Louise. Anita suffered numerous complications during the past sixteen months after a bad fall causing severe brain injury. Anita was born and raised in Teaneck, New Jersey and attended The College of Saint Elizabeth. Anita was the widow of Frank Lawrence Murphy. They were married for 48 years. Anita worked as a therapeutic dietician in Milford, Connecticut and then for 17 years at Emory University Hospital's Clinical Research Unit in Atlanta, Georgia. She and Frank also owned The New York Style Pizza Shop in West Palm Beach, Florida. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew and Julie Murphy of Suwanee, Georgia, Paul and Debby Murphy of Buford, Georgia and her daughter, Louise Marie of Loganville, Georgia and six grandchildren, Shelby, Joseph, Raymond, Matthew, Lindsey, and Aidan. Anita is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Claire and George Earle, II of Melbourne, Florida. Anita was a loved member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia, where she volunteered for many committees including St. Vincent de Paul, and the health committee. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, July 9 at 10:00 AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with Fr. Greg Kenny, CMF and Fr. John Molyneux, CMF serving as celebrant. Interment will be held at 1:30 P.M. at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Georgia, where Frank is also at rest. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 8PM, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul, in memory of Anita Greubel Murphy. Condolences may be sent or viewed at Tom M.
