"CORKEY" William L. "Corkey" Hodgens, 82, of Snellville passed away Saturday, July 2, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ann Phillips Hodgens; sons, Bill Hodgens of Covington, Jim Hodgens of Covington; sister, Audrey Pace of Conyers; brother, Ed Hodgens of Houston, TX; 7 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Mr. Hodgens was retired as a jeweler with Hodgens Jewelers after 50 years of service. He was a Navy Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a mason with E.A. Minor Lodge, and was a Scout Leader with Troop 414, DeKalb County. Mr. Hodgens was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church where he was active in the choir. He also coached soccer in DeKalb County and loved fly fishing. A Service Celebrating the Life of William Hodgens will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 11AM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel. Interment will follow at 2:30PM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Villa Rica, GA. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 5, 2011 from 6PM until 8PM at the funeral home.
