Imogene Willis Powell, 80, of Georgia, formerly of Pine Bluff, died at the home of her daughter in Sugar Hill, Georgia, Thursday, June 30th. Born in DeWitt, Arkansas April 2, 1931, a daughter of Carl W. and Josephine McPeak Fox, she was educated in DeWitt, Pine Bluff, and Altheimer, graduating Altheimer High School. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, James H. "Pete" Willis and Thomas J. Powell. She worked as a secretary at Strong Manufacturing in Pine Bluff for many years. She also resided in Washington, Georgia, Alabama, and Texas before returning to Georgia. She worked in retail sales in those states before her retirement. She was a member of what is now Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff. Survivors include her son, James Carl Willis, Enterprise, Alabama; daughter, Diane McKinney, Sugar Hill, Georgia; step-daughter, Beverly Chadick, Hot Springs, Arkansas; brother, Don Carl Fox, Hot Springs; sisters, Frances Fergusson, Pine Bluff, Joann Lane of Whitewright, Texas, Carolyn Robinson, White Hall; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services are Tuesday, July 5th, 11:00 a.m., at Ralph Robinson & Son in Pine Bluff. Visitation is Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. until service time at Robinson's.
