Youth Roundup: Broncos win all-star tournament

The Brookwood Broncos Pony All-Stars won the inaugural Abigail Chambers Foundation tournament.

The Broncos lost by one running in the final inning of the game at Bay Creek in Grayson.

The Broncos outscored their competition by 50 runs and scored an average of 15 runs per game for a total of 92 runs in six games.

The Broncos had to beat a very strong Mill Creek squad to reach the championship game against Duluth where the Broncos took care of business and won 12-1. The Pony All-Stars went 5-1 in their quest for state. They have earned the right to play for the Dixie Baseball State Championship.

The Brookwood Broncos Pony Division Champions will now travel to Columbus for the Dixie Boys State Championship on July 9.

Team members are Manager Jerry McGrath, Matt Kopec, Kevon Mixon, Taylor Hines, Coach Jorge Legra, Nick Coker, Donovan Fernander, Nick Marquez, Coach Mike Marquez, Geno McGrath, Jesse Kasmiskie, Sean Diller, Nick Palmer, Cameron Young and Micah Childers.

BASEBALL

Falcons win Sharon Springs Shootout

The Flowery Branch Falcons won the fourth annual Sharon Springs Shootout on June 12. They won four games to become the 11U AA Silver Bracket Champions.

Team members are Landon Jones, Nick Langford, Avery Probst, Nick Kezios, Fletcher Crockett, Jacob Ross, Lincoln Barlow, Blake Coxworth, Peyton Vinson, Justin Quick. The team is coached by Michael Tucker, Dean Coxworth and Wayne Quick.

Wildcats claim PeeWee state title

The Duluth Wildcats PeeWee All-Star team won the inaugural Dixie Youth Pee Wee Coach Pitch state championship.

Duluth beat Pike County in the championship game 17-5 to finish the tournament undefeated. Duluth will represent Georgia in the Dixie Youth World Series on July 30 in Florence, S.C.

Team members are Alfonso Nunez, Arjun Rambhiya, Gustavo Perez, Dashaun Richardson, Hassam Abboud, Jacob Grafton, Richard Westrop, Robbie Hasenstab, Trey Davis, Tristan Johnson, Jaylen Fullwood and Tyreke Twyman.

The team is coached by Robert Hasenstab, Aashish Rambhiya, Hinton Davis and Demetrius Richardson.

Grayson wins the GGBL championships

The Grayson Rams 10U won the GGBL Championship by winning a best of three series against North Gwinnett.

Team members are Bradley Blalock, Jacob Blankenship, Nick Brown, Josh Carriere, Joshua Messer, Michael Perry, Ben Scartz, Beans Seymour, Jeremiah Smith, Evan Thompson and Kendall Wesson.

The team is coached by Chris Blalock, Ted Scartz, Rudy Smith and Michael Wesson.

SOFTBALL

Rams win Tri-County tourney

The 14U Grayson softball all-star team won the South Gwinnett Summer Classic, the Pre Tri-County tourney at Buford and the Tri-County championship at North Gwinnett.

Team members are Paige Bunn, Jocelyn Cormier, Autumn Deschenes, Amber Deschenes, Emily Haney, Gabriella Martinez, Logan McKenzie, Madison Newcomer, Iva Shiver, Susannah Speagle, Holly Venus and Tori Wellmaker.

The team is coached by Kim Moore, Jen Anderson, Chris Moore and Liz Vollenweider.

Mo-Hawks first at Tri-County tourney

The 10U Silver Bracket Mill Creek White Mo-Hawks All-Star team took first place at the Tri-County All-Star Tournament held at George Pierce Park in Suwanee.

The team came through the tournament undefeated beating Norcross 6-5 in the championship game on June 26.

The Mo-Hawks will play in the 10U state tournament in Cumming.

Team members are Maddie Basil, Mary Cochenour, Dakota Ellis, Taylor Ganas, Courtney Harris, Kaitlyn House, Lauren Stokes, Kali Stream, Anna Swars, Bradey Tharp, Georgia Trogdon, and Chloe Tullis. The team is coached by Chris Harris, Bill Basil, Lisa Cochenour and Curt Trogdon.

Mill Creek All-Stars win three tourneys

The Mill Creek 8U All-Stars recently won the South Gwinnett, Pre Tri-County and Tri-County Tournaments in the gold division. In addition to the three tournament championships, they finished their all-star season with a perfect 11-0 record.

Team members are Daija Carr, Dallis Goodnight, Abby Harrell, Riley Harris, Taylor Hoult, Ellison Lane, Ansley Metz, Hannan Razeq, Peyton Rockwell, Ellie Seeton, Bella Silverman and Sara Viti. The team is coached by David and Natalie Viti, Kacie Shields and Chuck Metz.

Dacula wins three tournies

The Dacula Major All-Star softball team won four games to win the South Gwinnett Summer Classic Tournament.

Dacula then won the Pre-Tri-County tournament at Legions Field in Buford and then captured the Tri-County tournament championship with an 11-7 victory over Shiloh.

The team will play in the ASA State level tournament in Cumming.

Team members are Alaina Bock, Kayleigh Burns, Victoria Clark, Alyssa Criscolo, Gianna DeSandre, Vic Eaton, Katherine Kozlowski, Natasha Lajara, Aly Lord, Meredith Lysaught, Meredith Tucker and Kaitlyn Worley. The team is coached by Scott Bock, Glenn Eaton, Jeff Lysaught and Clay Lord.
