BUFORD — Officials celebrated the opening Thursday of a Buford location for a major German manufacturing company.
The 150,000-square-foot facility at 4295 Hamilton Mill Road is the new North American Headquarters for Hettich America, a leading manufacturer of hardware for kitchen cabinets, residential furniture and appliances.
The location brings 100 jobs to Gwinnett in fields including sales, manufacturing, research and development and engineering and has potential for 50 more.
“Hettich is continuing to launch new products and expand its operations; we needed a location that would give us opportunity to grow over the coming years and one that would be centrally located for both our Baldwin and Alpharetta employees,” said company President Thomas Ginschel. “The Buford location allows us to pull talent and a qualified work force locally to meet our needs.”
A ribbon cutting ceremony brought together local officials as well as the consul general of Germany.
“Companies like Hettich help expand our global business outreach, strengthen the county’s commercial tax base and provide good jobs for our residents,” said Commissioner Shirley Lasseter. “We are proud to have them growing and expanding in our community.”
