Gwinnett juggles its roster with 4 moves

DULUTH — The Gwinnett Gladiators signed two players, traded for one and released another Tuesday before playing South Carolina at the North Charleston Coliseum.

Forward Justin Milo, who began the season in Gwinnett’s training camp, was claimed off waivers from South Carolina. He appeared in 12 games with the Stingrays and has four points. Milo also played two games for the Alaska Aces this season, his first as a pro after finishing his college career at Vermont.

Lucyk, a Notre Dame product, was signed from the Augusta RiverHawks of the Southern Professional Hockey League. He has 20 points (four goals, 16 assists) in 27 games. The Fox Point, Wis., native split time last season with ECHL Johnstown and Trenton as well as Texas of the Central Hockey League.

The Gladiators also acquired forward John-Scott Dickson from the Idaho Steelheads in exchange for future consideration and released forward Drew Akins.

Dickson wasn’t available for Tuesday’s game, however.

The North York, Ontario native has 16 points (six goals, 10 assists) in 27 games this season with the Steelheads. Dickson ranks fifth in scoring on the Steelheads and has two multiple point games this season with Idaho.

Akins had an assist in 10 games with the Gladiators after he was signed on Dec. 17.
