Amber Leigh Scates and Franklin Moss Heery were married Dec. 11 at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Atlanta. The Rev. Frank Cox and William Olsin Britt IV officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Edward Scates III of Lawrenceville. She is a 2003 graduate of Collins Hill High School and a 2008 graduate of Georgia Tech. She is employed with Gilbane Building Company.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Moss Heery of Athens. He is a 2003 graduate of Athens Academy and a 2008 graduate of Georgia Tech. He is employed with Harrison Design Associates.
Molly Amanda Long of Atlanta served as the bride’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Jill Clark Billard of Charleston, S.C., Jane Marie McKnight Kinsey of Charlotte, N.C., Jennifer Tamburo Lopez of Hoschton, Jennifer Lynn Provenzano, Lauren MacKenzie Tabor and Natalie Elaine Young, all of Atlanta.
Thomas Moss Heery, the groom’s father, of Athens, served as the best man.
Groomsmen were Brandon Michael Barrett, Keith Hayward Guest Jr., James Thomas Heery III and Kenneth Benjamin Heery, all of Athens, Patrick Lindsey Cook of San Diego, Andrew Judson Hill IV of Augusta and Comer Brooks Woodruff Jr. of Nashville.
