PREP ROUNDUP: Hawks' Seckinger helps deliver win over Parkview

LILBURN — Mill Creek’s baseball team defeated Parkview 4-3 on Friday.

Shane Seckinger collected the win for Mill Creek after he pitched the last three innings and gave up a run, two hits, four walks and struck out four batters. Chip Fleming started the game and gave up two earned runs, six hits and struck out five batters.

Offensively for Mill Creek (2-0), Jerad Curry and Connor Kasten each had an RBI and Tim Hernandez went 1-for-1 with an RBI double.

Matt Olson went five innings for Parkview and gave up two hits, a run, no earned runs, two walks and struck out five batters, while Ryan McCraine pitched an inning and gave up three hits, three earned runs, a walk, two hits and struck out two for the loss.

Offensively for Parkview (0-1), Jeff Rontirin went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs, while Josh Hart was 2-for-4 with a double and Jarrett Freeland went 2-for-3 with a single and a double.


Grayson 9, Peachtree Ridge 3

SUWANEE — Grayson beat Peachtree Ridge 9-3 on Friday.

Austin Meadows gave up two runs in two innings and earned the win for the Rams. Mike McHugh was 4-for-4 with an RBI, two singles and two doubles, while Chris Erwin went 1-for-3 with a home run, and Kyle Streicher was 2-for-5 with three RBIs for Grayson.

Peachtree Ridge was led offensively by Jared Walsh, who went 2-for-3 with a double, while Billy Best and Brett Polachek each had an RBI. Walsh also threw four innings and gave up three earned runs and struck out seven batters for the Lions.

Mountain View 10, Archer 0

LAWRENCEVILLE — Beau Blair (1-0) gave up one hit and struck out three batters to earn the win and help Mountain View shut out Archer 10-0 in five innings on Friday.

Joey Bell scored two runs, with three hits and two RBIs, while Peyton Fore had two hits with two runs and two RBIs for Mountain View (2-0).

GAC 2, Druid Hills 1

NORCROSS — Greater Atlanta Christian beat Druid Hills 2-1 in eight innings on Friday.

GAC’s (2-1) Eric Smotherman earned the win in relief, and offensively hit the game- winning RBI in the bottom of the eighth to drive in John LaMay (2-for-3).

Central 5, Apalachee 4

WINDER — Grant Thiel threw 32⁄3 innings and struck out six batters to earn the win on the mound and help Central Gwinnett defeat Apalachee 5-4 on Friday.

Thiel was 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and a run, while Cody De La Paz was 2-for-4 with a triple, a run and two RBIs, and Chris Sekerak went 2-for-4 with a double and a run for Central (2-0).

KHC sweeps doubleheader

HARTWELL — Killian Hill Christian defeated Barnes Academy 8-1 and 5-1 in a doubleheader on Friday afternoon.

In the first game, Kyle Bailey gave up four walks, an earned run and walked four in five innings to earn the win on the mound. Offensively, Bailey was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a home run. Alex Atteberry was 2-for-3 with a grand slam and five RBIs and Austin Parks went 2-for-2 with a home run for Killian Hill Christian.

Parks earned the win in the second game against Barnes Academy. Parks gave up two hits, an earned run, no walks and struck out seven in five innings. Bailey was 2-for-2 with three RBIs, which included a double and three run home run, while Sebastian Thomas went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Killian Hill (3-0).


Buford 4, Shiloh 0

BUFORD — Buford shut out Shiloh 4-0 with five saves in goal by Baxter Argo on Friday.

Esgardo Arroyo scored two goals and Patrick Nolt and Gerardo Mondragon each scored a goal for Buford (3-0-1).

Collins Hill 3, Brookwood 2

SUWANEE — Collins Hill beat Brookwood 3-2 in penalty kicks on Friday.

Amiri Abraham and Matt Dyck each scored a goal for Collins Hill (3-0).

GAC 2, Parkview 1

NORCROSS — Denzel Clarke scored two goals to help Greater Atlanta Christian defeat Parkview 2-1 on Friday.

Jose Diaz scored Parkview’s only goal, and Jack Falle had 10 saves as keeper for the Panthers.

Archer 4, Rockdale Co. 1

LAWRENCEVILLE — Chris Hall led with two goals to help Archer beat Rockdale County 4-1 on Friday.

Chris Harrison and Abdul Yakubu each scored a goal and Konnor Gould had two assists for Archer (1-3).

Hebron 1, Dacula 1

DACULA — Hebron and Dacula tied 1-1 on Friday.

Austin Pinto scored Hebron’s goal and John Foley had eight saves in goal.


North 8, Lanier 0

SUGAR HILL — North Gwinnett shut out Lanier 8-0 on Friday.

Five goals were scored by Taylor Burns, while Lauren Harriman, Abbi Edwards and Jessica Eberhardt each added a goal for North (4-0).

Collins Hill 2, Brookwood 1

SNELLVILLE — Calli Star had 11 saves in goal to help Collins Hill defeat Brookwood 2-1 in overtime on Friday.

Mariah Dickey and Taylor Donohue each scored a goal, while Lauren Hoover and Lindsay Leonardo each had an assist for Collins Hill (3-0).

Grayson 2, Mountain View 0

GRAYSON — Mary Vernetti scored two goals to help Grayson beat Mountain View 2-0 on Friday.

Shayna Rogers and Jessica Allen each had an assist while Cadye Picklesimer got the shutout in goal for Grayson (3-1-1).

GAC 3, Parkview 0

NORCROSS — Greater Atlanta Christian shut out Parkview 3-0 on Friday.

Chelsea Gandy-Cromer scored two goals and Mollie Arrendale scored a goal and had an assist. Rachel Garcia and Lauren Bryan each had an assist for GAC (4-0-1), and McKenzie Nelson and Elizabeth White split time in goal for GAC. Asha Wright was in goal for Parkview.

Dacula 3, Hebron 2

DACULA — Ruvia Chimedza scored two goals, while Amanda Kent added another to help Dacula take a 3-2 win over Hebron on Friday.

Mill Creek 1, Flowery Branch 0

HOSCHTON — Mill Creek shut out Flowery Branch 1-0 on Friday.

Mill Creek’s Lindsay Kempf scored the only goal with an assist by Maddlyn Youngblood. Taylor Cornelious had two saves in goal for the Hawks (4-0).

Archer 2, Rockdale 0

LAWRENCEVILLE — Archer shut out Rockdale 2-0 on Friday afternoon.

Chrissy Holland and Gabby Cuomes each scored a goal and Kristen Craig earned the shut out as goalkeeper for Archer (3-0-1).

Buford 10, Shiloh 0

BUFORD — Katie Garth led with three goals to help Buford shut out Shiloh 10-0 on Friday.

Lindsey White, Ceely Coker and McKenna Harwood each scored two goals and Caitlyn Dawkins added a goal for Buford. Caitlin Hollis was in goal for Buford (3-1).


Peachtree Ridge 15, Norcross 5

SUWANEE — Peachtree Ridge defeated Norcross 15-5 on Friday.

For Norcross (0-1) Davis Diamond scored four goals, while Cam Coval scored a goal and had an assist, and Reese Van Beber had an assist.

Grayson 8, Chattahoochee 1

JOHNS CREEK — Josh Parris had 14 saves as goalkeeper to help Grayson take an 8-1 win over Chattahoochee on Friday.

Garrett Gorski led the Rams with four goals, while Zach Dirkse helped with a goal and three assists, and Brett Miller added a goal and had an assist for Grayson (1-1).

GAC 12, Holy Innocents’ 4

DECATUR — Greater Atlanta Christian beat Holy Innocents’ 12-4 in the Inside the Perimeter tournament on Friday.

Eric Reynolds had three goals and nine ground balls, Whit Anderson scored three goals, Jake Neill scored two goals, had five assists and 10 ground balls, Scotty Smith scored two goals, while Sawyer Buce and Peter Whiteneck each added a goal for GAC (2-0).

Mill Creek 13, South Forsyth 0

HOSCHTON — Alec Bussink led Mill Creek with four goals and David Bryan had three goals and an assist to help Mill Creek shut out South Forsyth 13-0 on Friday.


Collins Hill 17, Norcross 5

SUGAR HILL — Danielle Vincent led the Eagles with five goals to help Collins Hill defeat Norcross 17-5 at the Gwinnett County tournament on Friday.

Darsey Walker scored four goals and had an assist, while Lauren Amisano added three goals for Collins Hill. Kourtney Doherty contributed two goals and an assist, while Madison Tyndall helped with a goal and assist, and Eryn Bonds had six saves in goal for the Eagles (1-1).

GAC 16, Grayson 12

SUGAR HILL — Lyndsey Kytle led with seven goals and had two assists to help Greater Atlanta Christian top Grayson 16-12 at the Gwinnett County tournament on Friday.

Meghan Greathouse scored three goals and had an assist, while Missy Roughgarden scored two goals and was also the winning goalkeeper for GAC (1-1).

Duluth 13, North 11

SUGAR HILL — Ajahna Grosvenore led with five goals to help Duluth beat North Gwinnett 13-11 on Friday at the Gwinnett County tournament.

Ali Cole scored four goals and had 10 ground balls, Katherine Hseih had two goals and Anya Leybobich had six saves in goals for the Wildcats (2-0).

Mill Creek 9, Brookwood 7

HOSCHTON — Mill Creek defeated Brookwood 9-7 in overtime on Friday.

Alexis Ordini scored three goals and had three assists, while McKenzie Fagioli scored three goals and Kelly Skoglund scored a goal and had an assist for Mill Creek (1-0).


Hebron falls to Athens Academy

ATHENS — Hebron lost to Athens Academy 3-2 on Friday.

Jerod Beck won No. 2 singles and Jack Griffin and Paul Stinespring won No. 2 doubles for Hebron (1-1).


Loganville 54, Redan 50

STONE MOUNTAIN — Enisha Donley led Loganville with 25 points and Chandler Nash scored 15 to help Loganville (21-7) beat Redan 54-50 on Friday.

Wilkinson Co. 54, Hebron 48

McINTYRE — Hebron fell to Wilkinson County 54-48 on Friday.

Jalisa Tucker scored 21 points and had seven steals, while Whitney Edwards helped with 12 points and Leah Benton added nine for the Lions (15-15).
