LILBURN — Kent Rollins and Jake Hauser each went 3-for-4 and Thomas Embry (1-0) allowed one earned run over 42⁄3 innings as South Gwinnett slipped by Providence 8-7 on Wednesday.
Jamie Suggs got the save in 21⁄3 innings of relief, striking out five. Ryan Patterson, Austin Williams and Ryan McDowell each had two hits for the Comets (1-0).
Cristin Stewart went 3-for-4 for Providence and Austin Loyd and Nick Stidham each went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Steven Slaughter (0-1) allowed three runs off five hits in 31⁄3 innings.

LILBURN — Beau Blair picked up four of his five RBIs with one swing, hitting a grand slam and leading Mountain View to a five-inning 12-1 win over Berkmar.
Alex Brock had two RBIs off two hits, including a triple and Garry Gwaltnew picked up the win, striking out five in four innings for the Bears (1-0).
North Gwinnett 2, Chattahoochee 1
JOHNS CREEK — Caroline Gualdoni and Taylor Burns each scored a goal for North Gwinnett in the Bulldogs 2-1 win over Chattahoochee.
Gualdoni and Lauren Harriman each had an assist for North (3-0).
Duluth 3, Alpharetta 1
DULUTH — Vincent Suidan and Jorge Garcia each scored one goal to lead Duluth to a 3-1 win over Alpharetta.
The Wildcats’ (2-2) third goal was an own goal that deflected off the Alpharetta keeper.
North Gwinnett 4, Parkview 1
SUWANEE — Shannon Bettiol (No. 1 singles) and Taylor Clark (No. 2) each picked up points for North Gwinnett in its 4-1 win over Parkview on Wednesday.
The doubles teams of Chelsea Koch and Isabel Balsavage and Lizzy Bradley and Haley Wix picked up the other two points for the Bulldogs (2-0).

LILBURN — Kevin Navas, Mark Hardy and Josh Winey all won their singles matches as North Gwinnett swept Parkview 5-0.

BUFORD — A low-round of 37 from Katie Plummer paved the way for Mill Creek to a 80-129 win over Mountain View.

BUFORD — Chandler Avery and Walker Head each shot low rounds of 38 to lead Mill Creek past Mountain View 163-232 at Hamilton Mill.
Peachtree Ridge 13, Norcross 0
SUWANEE — Michelle Sortier’s four goals and three assists helped Peachtree Ridge make easy work of Norcross in a 13-0 win.
Alex Crawford scored three and Amanda Sanders added two for the Lions (1-0).
For Norcross, Jamie Carlson had 10 saves in goal and the Blue Devils did not allow a goal in the second half.
Brookwood 5, Parkview 4
SNELLVILLE — Lisa McManus had 11 saves for Parkview, but it wasn’t enough in the Panthers’ season-opening 5-4 loss to Brookwood.
Amy Newberry, Kelly Spevacek, Riley Fields and Sammi Bosler each had goals for Parkview (0-1).
Mill Creek 10, Grayson 8
HOSCHTON — Dylan Stanley’s three goals led Mill Creek past Grayson 10-8.
Chas Welch and Alec Bussink each had two goals for the Hawks (1-0).
Wesleyan 13, Riverside 1
GAINESVILLE — Connor Breslin and Harrison Cheeley each scored four goals as Wesleyan routed Riverside Military Academy 13-1 on Wednesday.
Colin Stone added three goals for the Wolves (1-0).
Peachtree Ridge 17, Roswell 16
SUWANEE — Cory Hall scored with 32 seconds to go in regulation to send the game to OT and Michael Ruffcorn scored the unassisted game winner in Peachtree Ridge's 17-16 win over Roswell.
Greg Rose had 15 saves for the Lions and Michael Ruffcorn scored three goals with an assist, Steven Lee had four assists, Tyler Botts scored three goals and Cory Hall and Tanner Botts each scored two goals in the win.
