GREENVILLE, S.C. — The Greenville Road Warriors scored seven unanswered goals Tuesday night to top Gwinnett 7-1 at the BI-LO Center.
It’s the third loss in a row for the Glads, who have been outscored 19-6 over that stretch. Forward Pat Galivan beat goaltender Cameron Talbot with a backhander from the slot to give the Gladiators a 1-0 lead at 12:54 of the first. Justin Milo and Tim Filangieri added assists as Gwinnett held the 1-0 edge after one period. Greenville completely took over however from there on out. Rookie forward Brandon Wong’s 18th of the season tied the game just 1:29 into the second. At 11:31 rookie Marc Olivier-Vallerand potted his 19th to give Greenville their first lead. The Warriors weren’t finished. Defenseman Brad Cole buried a rebound exactly 30 seconds later to push the lead to 3-1, and defenseman Wes Cunningham made it 4-1 at 15:59 to cap the Warriors second period rally. Cunningham has three tallies now in February after scoring just once through the first months of the season. The third wasn’t much better for the Gladiators. Shane Harper scored at 4:56, Vallerand added his second of the night at 5:15, and Sean Berkstresser made it 7-1 at 9:18 to cap the scoring in a 7-1 Gwinnett loss.More like this story
