Silverbacks sign first four players

The Atlanta Silverbacks signed four players this week, the first move in filling out the club’s roster as it rebuilds.

Kohei Matsushita and Matthias Schnorf were the first two additions to the defense. Matsushita comes from Japan and played for three years in one of Japan’s top division clubs. Schnorf, a Swiss international, last played in Switzerland’s second division and has earned six caps with his country’s under-21 national team.

Matt Horth is a forward who set the all-time scoring record at Gordon College in Massachussetts with 36 goals.

Shane Moroney comes to the midfield after four years at Berry College in Rome. Moroney is a Senoia native, the first Georgian to sign with the Silverbacks this year.
