DULUTH — The city of Duluth will celebrate Arbor Day by planting trees Friday in the Town Green and at Bunten Road Park.
A tree will be planted at 10 a.m. in the Town Green in honor of Jack Wynn and at 11 a.m. at Bunten Road Park in honor of Fred Bishop. Tommy Green of Duluth First United Methodist Church will be the speaker.
The Arbor Day Foundation has designated Duluth a Tree City USA for 22 years. This national designation requires Duluth to have a tree board or department, a tree-care ordinate, a comprehensive community forestry program, and an Arbor Day observance and proclamation.
