LAWRENCEVILLE — The Gwinnett Braves Chopper’s All-Stars Program will reward elementary and middle school students with free tickets to the 2011 season at Coolray Field.
The new program will provide educators with the opportunity to reward students for their hard work and dedication, according to a news release. The main goal is to promote the importance and value of education for students who may not be recognized otherwise. “We appreciate the Gwinnett Braves and their support of the school district and our students,” Gwinnett County Public Schools Superintendent J. Alvin Wilbanks said. “In the spirit of a true community partner, the Gwinnett Braves have stepped up to the plate when it comes to rewarding and recognizing outstanding students.” Families of participating students will also have the ability to purchase discounted tickets in advance for the G-Braves games on April 8, when they host the Durham Bulls with a special celebrity appearance by WWE Hall of Famer, Jerry “The King” Lawler; May 30 and 31 when the Louisville Bats come to town for Military Appreciation Night; and June 2 for the Boating Night exhibition.More like this story
