LAWRENCEVILLE — Gwinnett Extended Care Center will name its newest “Queen of the Spring” next week.
The 10th annual Ms. GECC pageant will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Feb. 24 and will pit six “outstanding contestants” against each other as they attempt to win and move on to compete in the Ms. Georgia Nursing Home pageant in April.
Contestants are Jean Langford, Ruby Thomas, Inez Waters, Elizabeth Poyda, Lucy Dunaway and Ruth Clear.
The event, sponsored by the Gwinnett Medical Center Auxiliary, is free and open to the public. The GECC is located at 650 Professional Drive in Lawrenceville, near Gwinnett Medical Center’s main Lawrenceville campus.
The judging panel will consist of Phil Wolfe, GMC CEO; Lauren Edmunds, Miss Gwinnett County; and Paige Havens, Rotary Club and GECC volunteer.
GMC’s Gwinnett Extended Care Center was opened in 1997 to bridge the gap between acute care and home recovery.
