Heroes and Champions, a youth sports summer camp aimed at fostering positive character values, will host nine fundraiser events at local Chick-fil-A restaurants beginning this week to benefit the Gwinnett Football League.
Each fundraiser will feature a Heroes and Champions camp speaker from a group that includes NFL linebacker Rennie Curran, Atlanta Hawk Damien Wilkins, former UGA and Atlanta Falcons quarterback D.J. Shockley, former UGA and NFL quarterback David Greene and Miami Dolphins defensive end Quentin Moses.
The initial event, to benefit the Peachtree Ridge Youth Association, is Saturday from 12 to 3 p.m. at the Chick-fil-A at Sugarloaf Parkway and Satellite Boulevard. On Feb. 24, it will visit the Chick-fil-A Pike Street from 5 to 8 p.m. to benefit the Lawrenceville Youth Association.
Five fundraisers are planned in March, the first March 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Chick-fil-A on Moore Road to benefit the Lanier Athletic Association. The others are March 10 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Chick-fil-A on Scenic Highway in Snellville (to benefit the Brookwood Football Association), March 23 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Chick-fil-A on Scenic Highway in Snellville (Archer Athletic Association), March 24 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Chick-fil-A on Moore Road (North Gwinnett Football Association) and March 31 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Chick-fil-A at Hamilton Mill (Mill Creek Athletic Association).
The final two events are April 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Chick-fil-A at Peachtree Corners (Duluth Youth Football and Cheerleading Association) and April 21 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Chick-fil-A at Peachtree Corners (Norcross Youth Athletic Association).
