LAWRENCEVILLE — A student at Central Gwinnett High School was arrested for carrying a weapon on school property when he came back to the Lawrenceville campus to confront school officials, a spokesman said.
James Jayquan Clagon, 17, was booked into Gwinnett County Jail on Wednesday on charges of possession of a weapon on school property and disruption of a public school. “While the student was being disciplined by an administrator for a different matter, he became disruptive and left campus,” schools spokesman Jorge Quintana said Friday. “He came back on campus and caused another disruption as he attempted to confront school officials.” He was searched after being arrested for causing that disruption, at which point the school resource officer discovered a knife with a blade more than 2 inches long, Quintana said. “While he did not make any threats with the weapon, knives are not allowed on school grounds,” he said. Jail records showed Clagon had yet to post $3,700 bond Friday evening.More like this story
