Prep Roundup: Wolves roll in makeup game

ROSWELL — Andrew Frerking scored 14 points and Ty Teague added 11 as Wesleyan beat Fellowship Christian 55-48 on Thursday.

The win was in a makeup game cancelled during the snowstorm. Wesleyan improved to 21-3 overall.

Boys tennis

Buford 3, Duluth 2

BUFORD — Buford’s No. 1 team of Nicholas Becker and Matthew Gates and No. 2 team of Skyler Wilson and Alex Turner swept through the doubles matches to help the Wolves edge Duluth 3-2 in boys tennis action Thursday at home.

Michael Becker posted the only singles win for Buford (2-0) by winning at No. 3.

Duluth’s victories came from Ben Hirsch at No. 1 singles and Matt DeVries at No. 2 singles.

Collins Hill 5, Berkmar 0

NORCROSS — Marcus Maloney and Peyton Rushing along with Alex Rahmanian and Jake Inderrieden swept the doubles matches in Collins Hill’s 5-0 win over Berkmar in the team’s first match of the year.

Winning at singles were Chris Clark, Tyler Kallgren and Evan Padvorac.

Girls Tennis

Duluth 3, Buford 2

BUFORD — Singles wins by Amryn Soldier at No. 1 and Phoebe Chiem at No. 2 lifted the Wildcats past the Wolves on Thursday on the road.

Duluth also got a victory from its No. 2 doubles team of Lauren Blanco and Caroline Sweney.

Buford’s (1-1) wins came from Jancy Burge at No. 3 singles, plus the No. 1 doubles team of Courtland West and Abby Hundley.

Collins Hill 5, Berkmar 0

NORCROSS — Wins from Jillian Estes, Erin Ensley and Abbie Wehr at singles set the tone in Collins Hill’s 5-0 sweep of Berkmar on Thursday.

Lina Tibavinsky and Megan Gorham won at No. 1 doubles and the Owensbys, Cassie and Maddie, won at No. 2 doubles for the Eagles (1-0).

Mill Creek 4, Parkview 1

HOSCHTON — A doubles sweep by the Yau sisters, Kristy and Michelle, and Cailey Stevens and Lauren Atkinson pushed Mill Creek to a 4-1 win over Parkview.

Singles winners for the Hawks were Allison Weaver at No. 2 and Madison Hahn at No. 3.
