Jaime Pressly pleads not guilty to DUI in LA
LOS ANGELES — Jaime Pressly has pleaded not guilty to drunken driving charges in Los Angeles. Court records show former ‘‘My Name is Earl’’ co-star entered the plea through her attorney Friday. Prosecutors in the city of Santa Monica charged Pressly with driving under the influence and having a blood alcohol content of more than .20 on Wednesday. Pressly was arrested Jan. 5 after police said she was stopped for a traffic violation. She was released after posting $15,000 bail. Paltrow, Moore to sing on Oscar show LOS ANGELES — Gwyneth Paltrow, Mandy Moore, Randy Newman, Zachary Levi and Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine will sing on the Oscar stage. Academy Awards producers Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer said the entertainers will perform the year’s nominated songs during the Oscar ceremony, along with nominated composers A.R. Rahman and Alan Menken. Paltrow will sing ‘‘Coming Home’’ from the film ‘‘Country Strong.’’ Newman will perform his ‘‘Toy Story 3’’ song, ‘‘We Belong Together.’’ Welch and Rahman will perform ‘‘If I Rise’’ from ‘‘127 Hours.’’ Moore, Levi and Menken are to perform ‘‘I See the Light,’’ the nominated song from ‘‘Tangled.’’ The 83rd annual Academy Awards will be presented Feb. 27 at the Kodak Theatre and broadcast live on ABC. Cancer fund to honor Short, late wife Nancy LOS ANGELES — Martin Short and his late wife, Nancy, are being recognized for their courage by the Women’s Research Cancer Fund. Organizers said Short will accept the Courage Award on behalf of his wife, who lost her three-year battle with cancer last year, at the annual Unforgettable Evening fundraising event Feb. 10.
