TUCKER — A scuffle over an iPod led to an alleged Tucker gang member being arrested in connection with the December armed robbery of a gas station, officials said.

Gwinnett County police first encountered 19-year-old Darryl Anthony Bennett when an officer observed him and a friend walking from the scene where they had allegedly jumped a man on Norcross-Tucker Road and stole his iPod.

After questioning the duo in the parking lot of the QuikTrip at 6182 S. Norcross-Tucker Road, both were taken to Gwinnett County Jail, interrogated further and ultimately arrested.

While Bennett was in jail, investigators connected him to a Dec. 30 robbery at that very same QuikTrip.

In that robbery, police say Bennett — triangles tattooed on his face — entered the gas station just after 2:30 a.m. Producing a silver revolver, he demanded “money and Newport cigarettes from an employee,” according to an arrest warrant issued Monday.

Bennett, believed to be a “Bloods” gang member, is being held without bond on charges of armed robbery.
